Miss Lauren (Range Report 8/22/09)

I would like to introduce "Lauren". I would like to shout out my gratitude and special thanks to Ted Brown (Shooters Den) Gun Smith, ZOG's(TFL Forum) for the parkerizing my parts and all members that I have bought my parts from to make my Lauren a reality.( Its been awhile......I forgot who the members are already.)

The type of scope and scope mount is still undecided for this nasty lady.

RANGE REPORT: 8/22/09
Ammo:
Used American Eagle .308 168gr OTM
ULTRAMAX Remanufactured .308 168gr. Boat Tail Hollow Point

Position: Bench Shooting using the SEI Bipod

Target Paper: 100 Yard High Power Rifle Target (SR-1)

Note: I am not affiliated nor endorsing American Eagle and ULTARMAX ammo .That was the cheapest ammo I can purchase and sure was a good buy and the results was an excellent one.

Whew..........well I finally got to take Lauren out for her "Day at the Range". I am very pleased and impress of the results fired and rifle build. This is truly one proven modern day platform M14/M1A battle rifle.

1st Photo> 50yds: 10 rounds.

This photo shows the actual step or process in which I had to dial her in. First shot.....My alignment/mark to target was front sight at bottom/black of 6 o'clock position at the top target( I believe they call it the Lollipop sight). BANG!!!!.....Beejeeezes?? I was aiming at the top target and the first shot went center X ring at bottom target. I did not touch the settings that left "Shooter's Den" because I wanted to know just that>One click up from bottom was the setting from Ted Brown.

I then went 8 clicks up and second shot fired was still on bottom target. Made another 8 clicks up and and from there I was on top target on black.....I then made on more click up to fine tune and the rest is history. So a total of 20 clicks up for elevation and had no other reason to touch windage.

2nd Photo>100yds: 10 rounds> ULTRAMAX 168gr.Boat Tail Hollow Point ammo.

I guess when factory ammo is made and used......their ammo seems to have there own groupings as well.

Alls well..........ends well........well worth the time picking and choosing that special build of your choice. Well fellas, my head is swelling a bit larger now cause Lauren looks just a good as she shoots. "All Show.......... and All GO!

Do you have a Range Report w/photos of your modern day variant M14/M1A rifle and want to share them with us here?  Please email me with your commentary and photos to M1A96819@sageebr.com

Best Regards,
