AFSOC 13 Critical Attributes
AFSOC has a long proud history. Legendary Air Commando commitment rises
from a heritage of immeasurable sacrifices made across generations by
strong, committed people. "Air Commando" is not a job title. AFSOC is a
relatively small family - and our people become known by their heart,
their decisions and their deeds.
From November 2005 to April 2006, in a series of small group meetings, more than 175 highly experienced and respected AFSOC Air Commandos were asked:
What are the qualities that distinguish an AFSOC Airman - from those who would be considered "average"?
What factors will make peers and leaders alike respect you as a leader, warrior - and critical member of the Air Commando team?
The answers were no surprise - but, they do require daily vigilance and courage.
According to our most experienced and respected enlisted and officer leaders, the qualities that distinguish an elite AFSOC Air Commando are:
Integrity
Self-Motivation
Intelligence
Self-Discipline
Perseverance
Adaptability
Maturity
Judgment
Selflessness
Leadership
Skilled
Physical Fitness
Family Strength
These 13 Critical Attributes of Success are also the elements of individual member success in AFSOC. They are important vectors for members entering AFSOC service. Development of these characteristics will help insure an Airman's success. Our most experienced AFSOC members already know that these are the specific qualities we recognize and respect in our most elite Air Commando team members. These 13 Critical Attributes are fundamental to our mission success and to the continuation of AFSOC's heritage of honor and service to our nation.
